In line with our previous release, Macdonald Henderson is pleased to note its role in advising The GlenAllachie Distillers Co Limited (as the acquisition vehicle is now named, comprised of Mr Billy Walker, Mr Graham Stevenson and Ms Trisha Savage) in the completion of the acquisition of the Glenallachie Distillery and various whisky brands from Pernod Ricard, the deal having signed in July this year.

The GlenAllachie Distillers Co has now set out its strategy for the new venture and revealed the distiller’s intention to introduce a range of “premium quality yet affordable” whiskies, with 12, 18 and 25 year old expressions of the GlenAllachie single malt in line to be introduced to international and domestic markets by March.

GlenAllachie launches with an initial team of 15, but that could be expanded with further sales and marketing resource should the aspirations for the brand be fulfilled.

Export targets include France, Germany and the US, as well as emerging markets. Mr Walker has said the aim is to build through independent importers, distributors and retailers.

As well as the GlenAllachie malt, the deal to acquire the distillery included the MacNair’s and White Heather blends, which the company plans to rejuvenate. Future plans include the launch of single cask bottlings and special editions.*

Macdonald Henderson is delighted to have played a role in what represents a milestone deal in the Scottish whisky sector, and we wish The GlenAllachie Distillers team every success for the future.
