Macdonald Henderson is pleased to note its role in advising Mr Gavin McCallum in his acquisition of Prontoport Limited, a leading engineering services provider.

Prontoport has been established for 10 years and is well established in providing engineering solutions and consultancy to major blue chip companies into a number of industrial sectors such as renewables, oil and gas and general engineering. The business operates across the UK and European markets and is recognised as a strong and credible business partner.

Gavin brings 20+ years’ experience of investing in and growing businesses in the energy, manufacturing and service sectors from senior roles in BP and Clyde Blowers Capital.

About the deal, Gavin commented “this acquisition fits in well with the ambition of the existing team to deepen its offering to the wind market and further develop its offering across multiple sectors and will enable Prontoport to achieve the next phase in its growth’’.

In addition to providing engineering support services, Prontoport offers a wide range of industry accredited training courses from its modern, purpose built training facility in Irvine.

Gavin notes commented “this is a critical service to ensure the wind sector has a properly trained and accredited workforce but also enables people from other sectors and those out of work to enter this dynamic and growing market.”
