Macdonald Henderson was pleased to be given the opportunity to contribute to the latest quarterly instalment of the Business Journey at 29 in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow in front of an audience of over one hundred attendees.

The broad theme of the event was “Death, Taxes and Change”, focussing on the certainty of change and what businesses can do to mitigate the challenges, and maximise the opportunities that arise, through change.

Speaking on the theme “Brexit – Are You Ready – a Legal Checklist”, MH’s Head of Corporate David Beveridge outlined how business should measure their readiness for the biggest change to UK trade in the post – war era – Brexit.

David presentation was accompanied by talks on “Behavioural Change Revisited” by Jim Henderson of the Harrison James Partnership, and “Manage your Taxes” by Simon Murrison, with a special focus on Brexit tax matters.

Feedback was very positive on the morning and on social media since, and soft copies of the presentations will be available on the Business Journey website shortly.

The Business Journey aims to act as a free, non-executive board to owner-managed businesses operating in the West of Scotland SME community and support businesses across all stages of development.

Whether you are an existing business with a strong track record looking to move forward, or one looking at opportunities to efficiently finance your existing operations, the breadth and depth of experience available across The Business Journey partners will prove an invaluable resource to all businesses.

The Business Journey host quarterly events comprising at 29 in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow in which three speakers present to an audience of SME business owners and their advisors.

The presentations are generally themed and are directly relevant to the challenges which a business can be confronted with on a daily basis in the market and provide guidance with a view to assisting further where there is a need.

The principal purpose of the Business Journey is to be educational and to share knowledge but also to allow attendees and the partners to deal directly and assist with businesses where required.

The seminars are free to attend and we would encourage those of our clients and contacts who have not already become involved to register for updates and join this growing community.

We attach a link to both the homepage of The Business Journey where full details of the partners and past and future events can be found.
