Macdonald Henderson roll back the years to be crowned champions at the Wylie & Bisset Annual Charity Football Tournament.

Macdonald Henderson took to the field at Powerleague Glasgow on Friday, 16th August for the annual Wylie & Bisset Charity Football Tournament, in support of Chris’s House.

The Tournament is always played in excellent spirit and brings together a number of professional services firms in support of a great cause, all expertly hosted by Wylie & Bisset.

After a couple of years of disappointment, the team were hopeful of a return to former glory having been champions in 2014 & 2016.

After a steady group section, Team MH made it through to the knock out stages. We managed to negotiate a couple of heart in mouth moments in the quarters and semis to find ourselves in the final against the hosts. The final was naturally a tense and fiercely competitive affair.

Team MH managed to take a slender lead and then promptly killed the game by playing a brand of (anti) football which brought howls of derision from their opponents . Hey, it worked for Arsenal in the 80s so it will do for us……..

Needless to say that team captain, Alan McKee was delighted to have the opportunity to once again waddle up the hallowed Powerleague steps and lift the trophy.

The event was a great success and it’s fair to say that football and charity were the winners. But more importantly so were we.

The diet and foam rolling has already commenced in advance of our title defence next year.
