Further Detail:

• Fraser Morrison has been appointed as an Associate Director in the corporate team, joining the firm from respected Scottish firm Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie, where he trained. Fraser is an experienced corporate and commercial solicitor with particular expertise in mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance matters and private equity investments. In his private equity work, Fraser advises both high-growth companies and investment syndicates on the legal and commercial aspects of investment and the development and commercialisation of innovation and technology.

• Laura Forrest has been appointed as a Solicitor in the corporate team, joining the firm from Raeburn Christie, Aberdeen. An important addition to the corporate team, Laura combines experience of a wide range of corporate matters with particular expertise in employment law, handling both the employment aspects of corporate transactions and contentious and non-contentious employment issues facing employers and employees. This mixture of skills will be a key additional strength for the firm.

• Alasdair Swanson has been appointed as a Solicitor in the corporate team following completion of his traineeship with the firm. Alasdair has become a key player in the firm’s corporate team, and has garnered plaudits for his work on a number of high profile acquisitions, disposals and management buy-outs, particularly in respect of the project management of large scale diligence & disclosure exercises. Alasdair will play a pivotal role in the firm’s future growth and development.

• Caitlin O’Dowd has been appointed as a Trainee Solicitor in the firm’s commercial property team. Following graduation, Caitlin worked as legal analyst in Ashurst LLP’s multi-disciplinary global outsourcing centre in Glasgow, dealing with various legal, transactional and administrative work streams. Caitlin’s commercial awareness and wide skill set will be assets for the firm as the legal sector enjoys a resurgent commercial property market.

• Michael Hankinson has been promoted to Associate Director in the firm’s dispute resolution & corporate recovery team which continues to enjoy excellent growth since its formation in 2010. Michael is a hugely experienced court room lawyer, who aligns a wealth of litigation practice with a strong instinct for the objectives of his clients, and Michael’s client-following and reputation goes from strength to strength.

• Maureen Matheson has been promoted to Associate Director in the firm’s busy private client services team. Maureen specialises in private client work with a strong background in domestic conveyancing, wills and executries. Since joining the firm, Maureen has transformed our private client team from an ancillary service to a vital element of the firm’s offering, and this trend is set to continue as we continue to offer a full legal service to the firm’s entrepreneurial, owner manager & family business client base.
