We are delighted to advise the following promotion, appointments, and plans for trainee recruitment.

• Louise Hamilton has been appointed an Associate Director of the firm. Since training with the firm, Louise has developed into a key player in the firm’s corporate team, and garnered an excellent reputation for her work on a number of high profile acquisitions, disposals and investments. Louise has been featured by the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland as a Rising Star of the Scottish legal market and is sure to play a pivotal role in the firm’s future growth and development.

• Michael Hankinson has been appointed to the firm’s dedicated litigation team which continues to see excellent growth since its formation in 2010. Michael is a hugely experienced court room lawyer, who aligns a wealth of litigation practice with a strong instinct for the objectives of his clients. Michael joins the firm from Gebbie & Wilson. Michael includes sports law in his areas of interest, having played professional football for Dundee FC and Montrose FC respectively during his legal studies.

• Maureen Matheson has been appointed to the firm’s busy private client services team. Maureen specialises in private client work with a strong background in domestic conveyancing, wills and executries. Maureen tutors post-graduate students at Glasgow University in both Conveyancing and Private Client Law. Maureen brings a strong client following to the firm and will add further depth to an important element of the firm’s offering.

• Macdonald Henderson is in the process of recruiting two trainees with a commencement date planned for August 2013. With the legal sector in Scotland continuing to face significant challenges and a great deal of fluidity, the plight of the hundreds of graduates unable to find positions is one of great concern to the profession. Macdonald Henderson is delighted to be able to offer traineeships at this time, and see this as the optimum way of ensuring growth and succession in our business – the success of our former trainee and newly appointed associate director Louise Hamilton being a prime example.

We thank you for your continued support.
