Macdonald Henderson are pleased to share news of our role in advising on the launch of a new concept leisure offering comprising retro bowling alley, restaurant and a cocktail bar rolling into Glasgow.

Bowlarama is taking over the former Tiger Tiger club in Glassford Street – the top floor of the Mansion House – and it's set to open its doors by the end of this summer.

It boasts four full-sized bowling lanes complete with top-notch Brunswick bowling kits, a cocktail bar and restaurant, function and dance space – and it will be open from noon until 3am.

Boss Ian McColm commented (to Glasgow Live website ) "I've been in the drinks industry for 20 years [the successful cocktail haven Tiki Bar among other ventures] – I've been waiting a long time to bring this to Glasgow."

His plans for a boutique bowling alley have been in the works for a few years now – and it's taken 18 months to get the ball rolling.

"Loads of my bar staff and people in the city in general are wanting a different option for going out. It's something to do after dinner that isn't just drinking," he said.

"Bowlarama is a local business not a national chain – plenty of them about. We've thrown everything into this”.

"There are plenty of boutique bowling alleys opening down south, in London and Manchester. I've been looking for a place for years – and now we're doing it."

About Macdonald Henderson, Mr McColm further comments:

I’ve been really pleased with the support from the team at Macdonald Henderson on this project. Their dynamic attitude and attention to detail has helped make this happen".

We are delighted to have supported Mr McColm in this exciting venture, which is further evidence of the strength and innovation in the independent leisure scene in Scotland, and look forward to supporting the growth of the business as it moves forward.
